In the morning and all Coffee Breaks we will provide coffee specialties, tea and water in the LA-Foyer.

Mel’s Fresh Food – Food Truck (Sunday)
On Sunday you can find (self payed) food for the lunch break at Mel’s Food Truck between the LX- and the LK Building. Mel offers a wide variety of Food including Panini, Sandwiches, Soups and Bowls also covering vegetarian and vegan options.
Mensa Duisburg


During Opening Hours (11:15 – 14:30) you are invited to grab food and drinks in the Mensa, Campus Duisburg (MM-Building). Here you can see whats on the menu.

U-Café

If you just want to have a snack or don’t have time for the walk to the Mensa, the U-Café is directly next to the regitration in the LA-Building. Here you find a selection of snacks like wraps, sandwiches and cake but also some warm dishes.

If you prefer an option for eating separated from the busyness of the conference venue, we can recommend the following restaurants in the vicinity of the campus:
- Finkenkrug (Sternbuschweg 71, 47057 Duisburg) A rustic student bar in the university district, known for its huge selection of beer—up to 300 varieties—one of the largest in all of Germany. In addition to craft and draft beer, it offers down-to-earth fare such as burgers (including the Elvis Presley Burger), fajitas, and other high-quality dishes.
- Lindenwirtin (Mülheimer Straße 203, 47058 Duisburg) A historic half-timbered house (built around 1728, a listed building) on the Kaiserberg, serving traditional German home-style cuisine and featuring a large, shaded beer garden. Family-run for five generations. Known for its schnitzel, homemade croquettes, and daily specials in a cozy, rustic atmosphere.
- Der Afghane (Sternbuschweg 134, 47057 Duisburg) An Afghan restaurant and snack bar in the Wabenquartier offering authentic, home-style cuisine—from Kabuli Palau and mantu to grilled skewers. Vegan and vegetarian options, such as bolani and samosas, are also available. The restaurant is praised for its hospitality, service, and fair prices.
- MeYuki Sushi & Asian Food (Oststraße 119, 47057 Duisburg) An Asian restaurant in Neudorf specializing in sushi variations and traditional Vietnamese cuisine—such as bún dishes. Fresh, high-quality ingredients, a cozy atmosphere, and outdoor seating. Considered one of the city’s most popular sushi spots.
- Olgas Grill (Flurstraße 1, 47057 Duisburg) A Greek-style barbecue restaurant/snack bar in Neudorf-Nord offering generous portions at fair prices. Popular items include gyros, grilled meat, American-style pizza, and fresh salads. Friendly service and a small play area for children. - Wilde Wienerin (Schweizer Straße 1, 47058 Duisburg) An Austrian restaurant on Schweizer Straße in Duissern—the only one of its kind for miles around. Freshly prepared Viennese classics like veal schnitzel, paired with Austrian wines and beers. A cozy Viennese coffeehouse atmosphere and very friendly service.
- Mayuri Indisches Restaurant (Lotharstraße 144, 47057 Duisburg) A North Indian restaurant in Neudorf-Süd, run by women and dog-friendly. Known for tandoori dishes cooked in a clay oven, curries, biryani, and freshly baked breads. A wide selection of teas and a cozy, culturally rich atmosphere.
- König-Haus (Mülheimer Str. 112, 47057 Duisburg) The König-Haus is a true institution that captivates guests above all with its down-to-earth, rustic “old-school” charm. With its cozy atmosphere, the restaurant has served as a reliable gathering place for the neighborhood and socializing for years.
